What’s the latest on Horizons of Spirit Island today? We have several important announcements to make about the newest game in the Spirit Island family, and another about Spirit Island: Nature Incarnate, the upcoming crowdfunded expansion!
First up: let’s talk Horizons of Spirit Island international availability. We have been listening and we feel the same — we want as many people as possible to have access to Horizons of Spirit Island. After much communication with our partners at Target, we are very happy to announce that Horizons of Spirit Island will be distributed all across the world this winter. Our partnerships with international distributors will bring Horizons into retail stores outside of the United States, along with the new Foil Spirit Panels and the Deluxe Invaders Board. Make sure to head into your friendly local game store and ask for them to preorder Horizons and other accessories through their distributors in the coming months.
How does this development affect Spirit Island fans in the United States? That’s easy! We will be following the same plan that we laid out in our original announcement, with Horizons remaining exclusive to Target and Target.com in the United States for a period of two years after its release in October 2022.
As a result, Horizons of Spirit Island is coming with us to Germany! We’re happy to announce that the English language version of Horizons will be available for purchase in limited quantities at Essen Spiel ‘22. Join us at Booth 1D147 to pick up a copy and see what else is new at Greater Than Games. Essen Spiel runs from October 6th through October 9th, and we’ll be happy to see you there.
Everyone will have a chance to bring Horizons to their table! Get ready for a long winter — or summer, depending on your hemisphere — defending the Island alongside five new spirits like Rising Heat of Stone and Sand and Sun-Bright Whirlwind.
With all of that in mind, let’s talk about Spirit Island: Nature Incarnate. Our newest expansion for Spirit Island will be run through the brand-new Backerkit Crowdfunding campaign site, meaning you can make an account and explore their available campaigns while you get ready for Nature Incarnate right now!
The crowdfunding campaign for Nature Incarnate goes live on October 18th, and you can sign up for email updates through our Nature Incarnate Backerkit Launch page to stay on top of all the Nature Incarnate news that’s fit to print.
