BackerKit is one of the newest crowdfunding platforms on the market. It's one that we love, though, and we want to make sure that you best understand how to create an account and back to best use the service!
First, click the blue sign up button in the top right corner.
Next, fill out your information. You'll want to make sure to include all of it and follow any other password strengthening prompts that it gives you!
Once you're in, you'll see this banner letting you know that you need to confirm your account. Be sure to check the email that you signed up with (and double check spam!) before continuing. Confirm it! You can either log in again from that confirmation page or refresh the page you were on.
Finish setting up your profile! The payment method is particularly important, but you do not need to fill this out! You can also fill out this information when you back a project. That is what we have done for this tutorial.
Now you're ready to back! Make your way over to a campaign, like Defenders of the realm.
At the very top, you'll see some tabs. Story, Pledge Levels, Add Ons, Community, and FAQ. Click on pledge levels to be taken to the page showing all the info you'll ever need about the different pledges. Once you've taken a look at the game, of course!
Once you've gotten a good look at the different pledge levels, pick the one you want and click the blue "Back It" button! This is essentially adding a pledge level to your cart.
Here you'll be taken to a screen where you can add any optional Add-Ons. Take a look at the different ones and see if there are any other items you'd like to add.
Finally, finish filling out your payment information and confirm your pledge.
