What a year 2024 has been! Here’s hoping that your holidays were everything you wanted them to be. This year, we saw the release of three great games and can’t wait to bring you more in the future! Plus, there were some amazing times at conventions, with never before done (for us anyway) events. Let’s take a look at our year in review.
Family and Competitive Games
For games, we had the re-release of Get Bit! It’s the same family-friendly gameplay that you love in an adorable new package. Seriously, who doesn’t love this cute little shark and his scuba diving friends? Swim your way through the bathtub or get eaten by our squeaky little shark. The last one left swimming wins!
The Dice Tower says, “This game has always been one I've enjoyed. It's silly fun as you try to out guess your opponents. ... It's cute, it's simple, it's fun!”
We also brought you License to Grill. A competitive grilling game featuring fun Dad joke level puns. Y’know, like the Cauliflower Steak. For vegetarian vampires. Ugh, we know, but hey, you can’t have a grilling game without some dad jokes thrown in! It’s a fun game that’s just as much about ruining the other player’s food as it is making sure yours gets to the table first.
Tabletop Tolson says, “This is a juggling act, and this is what makes License to Grill so, so fun.”
And, of course, we can’t mention 2024 without Compile. Compile is our two player card game of competing AIs trying to be the first to gain sentience. It’s a fun back-and-forth that challenges you to think about all of your cards and how they’re going to move. It’s been a huge success thanks to you! We’re glad to hear that so many of you are enjoying it!
Shut Up & Sit Down says, “This game is complicated and clever in ways that set the neurons buzzing.”
Conventions featuring parties and tournaments?!
Gen Con is and always will be a blast, but this year was particularly fun. We had our Compile release party where people got to play tons of the game and win cool prizes like prints of the card art and more. Designer Michael Yang was there to meet fans and answer questions, plus maybe play a game or two between it all.
Plus, there’s the ever-fun Mega Spirit Island event that we hope to keep as a tradition moving forward. Players love it and so do we!
PAX Unplugged had another big Compile reveal with the first tournament! Players not only got to play and win a prize, but also got to play with the still testing Compile: Main 2! We can’t wait to show you more of that in the future. Be sure to subscribe to our newsletter to get all the latest updates first!
What’s next for Greater Than Games?
We’ve got more games planned for you, of course! You’ll see new games, sequels, and more with 4 releases! We’ve got a lot cooking up for you, especially in terms of big events. We’ll see you at GAMA in February, Gen Con in August, and Essen in October!
Here’s to a happy and prosperous new year! We’ll have more for you soon!
