Collection Outlines

So I'm going to post several collection ideas I have for when core rules are out.

Rock Me Asmodeus: The heroes battle Helfyre as they seek to unleash the powers of hell itself upon humanity.

Grim Grinning Ghosts: The heroes battle necromancer terrorist Grimmalkin as he unleashes an army of the dead.

Alchemical Romance: The heroes must defeat the mysterious Biomancer as he uses his homunculi in an attempt to take over the world.

The 4th Plague: Myriad seeks to find an ancient artifact hidden in the ruins of Babylon that will enhance his powers enough to swarm his demonic insects the world over.

Nice! Myriad's a pretty cool villain, so I await to hear what you do with him! Also, what's your villain Grimmalkin aiming to do?

I'm currently putting together a collection of my own to run with a group. I have the start of an outline here, but I'm still poking at it.

Pillars of the Earth

Issue #1: The heroes save some people from a collapsing building during an earthquake. They discover the person behind the earthquake is the villain Frakture! Cliffhanger!!!

Issue #2: Battle with Frakture! He flees underground when the heroes drive him off. The heroes try to pursue, but are sidetracked by mole marauders.

Issue #3: The heroes must navigate the Shift, a series of small-scale tectonic plates.

Issue #4: Pursuit of Frakture leads the heroes to the Shrine of Stone. It is there they learn that Frakture has stolen the Caldera Crystal, which gives him his powers. But a guardian still lurks at the shrine: Ranth, the Stone Serpent!

Issue #5: ???

Issue #6: Final battle with Frakture in an underground volcano! What happens to the Caldera Crystal?

Grimmalkin is basically a 16-year-old terrorist with necromancy. His only goal is mayhem. Basically The Joker as a summoner...

I am thinking of making a series of adventures around an original character (though I am not entirely sure if he will be a misunderstood hero or a sympathetic villain type).

The basic history of the character will be that he is the last member of an ancient race that once dominated Earth (much like how humans currently dominate).  His species was caught in a war that decimated their homeland and trapped him in ice for millions of years until his ancient tomb was located and excavated recently.  Given that he was litterally frozen in a block of ice, he was presumed dead and transported to the city where the players are as part of an exibition of this previously unknown culture... when he comes out of his tupor and tries to figure out where he is, what has happened to the world (and his people) and what he is going to do now.

Of course, the beings that trapped him in the ice were also trapped with him (begging the question, who was trapping who) and have also escaped their imprisonment... and are soon able to gather a number of followers (using the tried and true methods of promising power, fame and fortune to the greedy and the desperate) to hunt down this character... who may or may not be willing to help save humanity from these entities (he's already lost everything he cared about, and depending on how he is treated by the players, may not be particularly trusting of humanity).  This character may even fall in with some rather dubious company that may be able to help him resurect his people in some form... for a price (that he may be willing to pay, but it is unlikely that the players will be happy with).

I have even decided on some of the Characteristics and general powers I hope to give this character once the rules come out (I have scoured the character creation videos for the Characteristics that are in the prototype rules for Hero Creation and realize that the final rules may be different... and that Villain Creation will also be different from this).

For Background, I think Anachronistic makes the most sense... since he is a being out of his own time... by millions of years.  My list of Power Source characteristics is incomplete, but for the moment I am settling on Genetic (I see his people as being a highly evolved species with various genetic gifts they possess... though not every one possesses the same gifts).  Archtype characteristics is also incomplete, but Physical Powerhouse seems the best fit for this character (large, strong and durable... a warrior-king type of being).  Going with the warrior-king idea, I think his Personality characteristic is closest to the Natural Leader.  For Powers and Qualities... well, I have almost no real information on this area or what the above characteristics would give this character access to, but I am hoping for powers of Strength and Vitality (like Legacy possesses), maybe even Leaping (like the villain Tear has) and Claws while Close Combat and possibly Leadership are the only qualtites I know of that currently fit this concept (there are likely many more, I just don't have a list of them to be sure).  I have no idea what kinds of Abilities or Principles (or the villainous conterparts) are, so I am not even going to hazzard a guess as to what I may give this character.

Now I realize that much of this character will likely be reworked once the official rules are released... and may be quite different from what I currently envision, but this is enough for me to start building a loose framework of possible advantures for my players.  This will be a recurring character my players will encounter with some frequency (interspersed with other adventures that may or may not play into the overall campaign arc), though whether he will be seen as a hero or a villain by the players will depend on their actions (as will be his attitude towards the players).  And yes, I am leaving a lot of this character deliberately vague (I have had incidents where people have tried to claim my ideas as their own on other forums like this) so this is more of a precaution rather than an opinion of the type of people that may be lurking here as I may want to rework my idea for actual publication in the future (so as to avoid possible copyright related problems).

There are three types of people in the world... those who can count and those that can't.
